1. Scope and operator

This policy covers the StarKids iOS app and starkids.layseallone.com. The operator and contact details will be confirmed before public release.

2. Information stored in the app

The app saves child nicknames, tasks and schedules, rewards, star balances, completion and redemption history, milestone settings, and the selected child profile. These records support the features you use and remain in the app's local storage.

If you enable a parent PIN, the app stores a salted hash rather than the PIN in readable form. A four-digit PIN is a parental confirmation tool, not a replacement for your device passcode.

3. What we do not collect through the app

The current app does not transmit family records to StarKids servers, create online accounts, or use advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics SDKs. It does not request access to location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera for its current features.

4. Children and parental control

StarKids is intended for family use under a parent or guardian's supervision. Adults should create profiles using nicknames and avoid entering sensitive personal details. Children can complete tasks; adults manage profiles, tasks, rewards, and redemption, with optional PIN confirmation. We do not knowingly collect children's app records online.

5. Website requests and local preferences

Our website hosting and network providers process information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, request time, requested URL, and browser information. Their infrastructure may retain security or operational logs. This website does not include advertising or analytics scripts.

The website stores your English or Chinese language preference in your browser's local storage when you switch languages. You can clear it in your browser settings. Hosting logs are distinct from the family records inside the app.

6. Sharing, backups, and international processing

We do not sell app records or share them with advertisers. The current app has no StarKids cloud sync. Your operating system may include app data in device or cloud backups depending on your settings; those backups are governed by the platform provider's terms and policies.

Website requests may be processed by hosting infrastructure outside your country. Any information you send to us for support is processed to respond to your request; do not send children's sensitive information or your PIN.

7. Retention and deletion

App records remain locally until you remove them or delete the app. Archiving a task or reward preserves past growth history. Deleting a child's profile removes that child's records from the current app data; the app requires at least one profile. Uninstalling the app removes its local storage, subject to platform behavior and any existing backups. To remove backups, use your device or cloud provider's controls.

We cannot access or remotely delete records held only on your device. Website infrastructure logs follow the hosting provider's retention settings. Support messages are retained only as needed to handle the request and satisfy applicable obligations.

8. Security and your choices

The app uses local storage and the operating system's file protection. Keep your device secure and remember your PIN; the current version has no PIN recovery service. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. You can choose not to enable a PIN, change language, delete profiles, or stop using and uninstall the app.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when features or practices change and will revise the effective date. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate. Contact information will be added before public release.
