Terms of Use

Simple ground rules for using StarKids with your family.

Effective date: October 4, 2026

For parents and guardians

StarKids is a family habit and reward tool. You choose the tasks and rewards, supervise children, and remain responsible for fulfilling family agreements. Stars are not money.

1. Agreement and service provider

These terms apply to the StarKids app and website. By using them, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using them. Children should use the app under the supervision of a parent or guardian who can enter into this agreement. Provider and contact details will be confirmed before public release.

2. Permitted use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for lawful family purposes, subject to these terms and applicable platform terms. You retain rights to the content you enter. Do not use the app for harmful or unlawful activities, infringe others' rights, or interfere with the website's operation. Restrictions do not limit rights expressly allowed by law.

3. Family tasks, rewards, and stars

Adults are responsible for choosing suitable tasks, fair rewards, and age-appropriate expectations. Stars are in-app motivational points with no monetary value; they cannot be traded or redeemed for cash. StarKids does not sell, provide, guarantee, or deliver the rewards entered by a family. An app redemption records your family agreement; it does not create a purchase or an obligation for StarKids.

4. Parental supervision and PIN

The optional parent PIN supports confirmation for management and reward redemption. Keep it private and supervise access to your device. It is not a guarantee that a child cannot bypass controls. The current local version does not offer PIN recovery. StarKids is not medical, psychological, educational assessment, or professional parenting advice.

5. Local data and backups

You are responsible for your device and any backups. The current app stores records locally without a StarKids account, cloud sync, or remote recovery. Deleting a profile, uninstalling the app, device loss, or system failures may lead to data loss. Archiving tasks or rewards preserves past history. Please read our Privacy Policy for details.

6. Availability, updates, and platform services

We may maintain, update, or discontinue features, subject to applicable law. The current local version has no in-app purchases or subscriptions. App distribution and any platform transactions are subject to the platform's terms. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or compatibility with every device or future operating system.

7. Intellectual property

The StarKids name, app design, website, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms grant use rights, not ownership. Your family content remains yours; the current app does not upload it to us.

8. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the app and website are provided as available, without promises that every feature will be error-free or achieve a particular behavioral result. To that extent, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use. Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury.

9. Ending use and disputes

You may stop using the app at any time and uninstall it. Please contact us about concerns so we can try to resolve them. Applicable law and any mandatory consumer protections determine your rights and the courts available to you; these terms do not require compulsory arbitration or waive mandatory local rights.

10. Changes, language, and contact

We may update these terms and revise the effective date. Material changes will be communicated as appropriate; continued use has effect only as permitted by law. English and Chinese versions are provided for convenience, and neither version overrides mandatory rights. Contact information will be added before public release.
